The burn moratorium will go into effect on Monday, June 3, for the Pahrump Valley. Burn season is ending later than usual due to the cooler temperatures this year.
Last day of controlled burning will be Sunday, June 2nd, from 8 a.m. to noon, weather permitting. There is no burning on holidays, and when wind conditions exceed five miles per hour.
To burn, residents must obtain a permit at the Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Station I at 300 N. Highway 160.
